Allergy Season Taking Its Toll On Pets

By  |

Many people are dealing with the sniffles this season due to bad allergies. Pollen, grass, and ragweed are some common allergy stimulants, and they affect pets as well.

Pets tend to scratch and chew when they are irritated by allergies. Watery eyes and skin problems are also some signs that your pet may need allergy treatment.

Dr. Kris Montgomery, with the Brighton Animal Clinic, says, "Some good things to look for are at the feet to see if they are pink....or if they are licking a lot."

Simple allergies can usually be treated with special shampoos. Anti-histamines are also used to treat more advanced cases. Allergy shots are also an option to bring your furry friend some allergy relief.
