General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - An official of the United States Equestrian Federation said it appears a horse and rider didn't accurately read a jump at a weekend event, resulting in an accident.
Federation president David O'Connor says the preliminary investigation shows Laine Ashker and her mount Frodo Baggins misjudged the Flower Basket jump during the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in Lexington on Saturday.
Ashker - who is 24 - suffered multiple broken ribs, a badly broken jaw, broken clavicle and scapula and collapsed lungs. She was last reported in critical but stable condition at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
The horse was put down.
