It was a scary situation for people at a Lexington movie theater when they got caught in gunfire.
Shots were fired in the parking lot of the Fayette Mall Cinemark Theaters early Tuesday morning.
Police say at around 12:20 a.m. two groups of men got into a fight and one person pulled gun. One shot was fired into the air and another three were fired at a white Chevy Cavalier.
Police say two white Cavaliers fled the scene, one old and one new.
No one was hurt in the fight and police are still searching for the group of white men and the group of Hispanic men.
Business owners in the area are shocked, but they have full confidence that the police will find those responsible.
"We often get a lot of younger kids here. But as far as any nefarious element, I don't think there's anything to that. I'm just as shocked as anyone would be," Jon Askelton, the manager of Moe's Southwest Grill said.
Police say they have filed a wanton endangerment report because there were other people in the area.
Again, no one was hurt and no arrests have been made.
