Police: Business manager and husband stop robber

HINDMAN, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say a man who robbed a Knott County business last month came back Friday to do the same thing.

However, Kentucky State Police say 39-year-old Eric King, of Leburn, didn't get away this time.

Police say King tried to rob the Ameri-Cash in Hindman Friday afternoon.

The manager, Brenda Patton, and her husband, Willie Patton, say they wrestled the robber's gun away and pinned him down until police arrived.

"There were two very brave people in that office, Willie and Brenda," Rita Daniels, who is an owner of the business, said. "The robber even held the gun to Willie's head and told him he was going to kill him, and Willie said, 'Well, you're going to have to because you're not going to rob us.'"

Police charged King for Friday's robbery, and for the first one, which happened December 18.
