Man steals money from Georgetown hotel after distracting clerk

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are asking for help finding a man they say stole money from the cash drawer of a hotel.

The theft happened Thursday at the Super 8 in Georgetown.

Georgetown Police say a man walked up to the front desk, and distracted the clerk by claiming a bathroom was flooding.

After the clerk walked away, police say the man walked behind the front desk, opened the cash drawer, and stole all of the $10 and $20 bills.

On Saturday, Georgetown Police released surveillance pictures of the suspect in this theft.

Anyone with information is asked to call Georgetown Police at 502-863-7820.
