Man shot to death in Lexington; police open homicide investigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police have launched a homicide investigation after they say a man was shot to death.

Police tell WKYT the man was shot just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on Simpson Avenue, not far from the UK campus.

Police say the victim was taken to UK Hospital, where he later died.

The man's name has not yet been released.

So far, police say no one has been arrested. There's no word if there are any suspects in this case.

Lexington Police were at the scene of the shooting for hours Saturday night collecting evidence.
