Series Of Crashes Tie Up Traffic

A chaotic morning for Lexington Police with a series of serious car crashes on some of the city's busiest roads.

Two of those happened within minutes of each other on Nicholasville Road just a few blocks apart.

In one case, a pedestrian was hit at Lowry Lane. She was taken to the hospital. Police say the woman was crossing against t the signal and the driver had the right-of-way. There is no word on the woman's condition at this time.

The other wreck at Larkin Road resulted in a woman being rescued from her overturned van. She was not seriously injured.

A bad wreck also tied up traffic on New Circle Road at Tates Creek.

A car flipped over the barrier there after police say it was sideswiped by another car. The wreck caused quite a backup.
