Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
The room normally used throughout the week for the church's nursery school was vacant today except for a brick surrounded by broken glass.
Around 3:45 this morning, a live in couple in charge of taking care of the Maxwell Street Church after hours, hears the alarm.
The couple call police who used K9s to search for whoever is responsible for the broken window.
The search comes up empty but it does appear as if the alarm scared the vandal off, nothing appears to be taken from the church and it doesn't look like they tried to enter either.
While police continue to investigate, the Assistant Pastor says this is reminder that even the Church should always be aware to lock doors and make sure everything is secure when locking up for the night.
This is also the second Church in Lexington this week to fall victim to a would-be thief.
