Lexington will be getting a new prosecutor who will have the sole job of targeting online child predators.
The Justice Department is spending five million dollars to create 43 new prosecutor jobs in several cities across the nation.
The positions are being funded through a government program called "Project Safe Childhood." It's aimed at protecting children against online abuse and exploitation.
U.S. Attorney General Mark Filip made a brief stop in Lexington on Wednesday to talk about the program.
The new positions will be distributed among 93 federal prosecutors' offices nationwide, focusing on where the need is greatest.
