An unusual sight for people in downtown Louisville Wednesday, after an abandoned bridge caught fire.
Smoke and flames could be seen high into the sky, after the fire broke out around noon at the Big Four bridge.
Firefighters fought the flames from boats in the Ohio River, until they got the fire under control.
No word yet on what may have caused the fire.
The railroad bridge hasn't been used in nearly 40 years. Plans were in the works to turn it into a pedestrian bridge.
