Police investigating after missing Knott County man found dead

KNOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A death investigation is underway after police say they found the body of a man who had been reported missing.

Kentucky State Police say they found the body of 30-year-old Eric Tysen Fugate Friday morning, near a Surface Mining Road in the Triplett Branch community of Knott County.

Police say Fugate had been reported missing less than 24 hours before his body was found.

Investigators say at this point, they do not know what caused his death.

Police say an autopsy has been scheduled at the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort.

Fugate was from Hindman.
