Increasing Prices Of "Green" Cars And U.S. Consumers Not Eco-Friendly

Toyota plans to raise the price of the Prius Hybrid as much as $300. The more fuel efficient Asian cars have been selling better than the U.S.-made cars.

In other environmental news, one survey exclaims that wealthy countries, such as the U.S., are the least environmentally friendly.

The National Geographic Society surveyed 14 countries regarding environmentally sustainable consumption and behavior. It focused particularly on housing, transportation, food and goods.

The results concluded that the U.S., Canada, France, and Japan were at the bottom of the eco-friendly list. However, citizens in economically challenged countries were much higher on the list. Brazil and India tied at number one for the most eco-friendly citizens.
