A stolen lottery ticket in Lincoln County ended up being more valuable than anyone realized.

Police say the Pick 4 ticket was one of 175 stolen from a gas station in Hustonville.

Police say an employee illegally produced the tickets, then took off.

After arresting him, and his wife, police took all of the tickets, only to discover one was a $25,000 winner.

Now, that winning ticket is evidence, which means no one will get to cash it until the case is closed.

And even then, to get the winning ticket, the rightful owner, which is now the owner of the very store robbed, will have to pay for all the tickets illegally printed out.

Both people arrested in connection with the lottery ticket theft have since posted bond from the Lincoln County Jail.

Somebody's gonna be an idiot, might as well be you. A fool and his money soon part, that fool is the person who throws away money on lottery tickets.
