A Lexington family received a scare early Friday morning when a car hit their home on Hartland Parkway.

Police say a 19-year-old man ran over two mailboxes, swerved into two yards on Bonhaven Road before running into the back of a garage.

He suffered minor injuries and was taken into police custody.

His name hasn't been released.

Police are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
