LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Sen. Barack Obama's campaign says the Democrat will be in Kentucky next week as the state's primary nears.

It will be the third trip to the state for Obama, who is facing Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary. The campaign was short on details, saying only that the visit would be early next week. They did not say where he would go.

The Bluegrass state was one of Obama's first stops after he announced his candidacy for president in February 2007. He was last here in August.

Prosperty under Clinton came in large part because he basically shut down our military operations and saved the government a few trillion dollars there, but he also made us a weaker nation and sitting ducks for 9-11. As far as Obama goes, he surrounds hisself with anti-american people. Louis Farrakahn is Prejuduced! and you'll never convince me that a person fills a pew for 20 years and has no clue of what the pastor stands for or endorses. You dont agree- you get up and leave! The color to consider during election to consider is not black or white- it is red white and blue and Obama doesn't convince me that he loves this country. He wont wear a flag on his lapel but I'm supposed to let him run the country? Talk about lettin the fox into the hen house!

I too am a good ol' american, blue colar worker. I come from a long line of them. My grandfather was a coal miner and preached at a little country church right here in kentucky. I have never seen where either party in the White House has turned my blue colar to gold! It doesn't matter if you are black or white- if you are blue colar and live pay check to pay check- you are pretty likely to stay that way. But the democratic party always screams at the top of their lungs that they are all for the poor, working class people. I don't see it. They court all of hollywood (how much more out of touch can you get?) while good ol Billary sent our jobs overseas with NAFTA. It was under his term that the Trade Centers were bombed by Osama the first time- he should have taken care of that then but he didn't. He (Osama) went on to bomb the U.S.S. Cole a ship full of our boys- still he got away with it. Then there were the barracks in Beriut- Osama strikes again!

To the Obama supporter: No it is not because he is black. It is due to his lack of experience. Also when he talks about change what does he really say? Do you realize that he has not even completed one term as a US senetor? Also to Bart-yes I have been on his website and no it does not answer many questions that the public has such as why is it that his wife has only been proud to be an American one time in her life (she received a free education to an Ivy League school). Also do you honestly believe the man sat in the same church for 20 years and listened to the same minister for that long and did not know that he was prejudice, give me a break- he just doesn't want people to know how he really feels now that it is known to the public.

Please get over the racism thing. How come everytime a black person does anything...if a white person doesnt agree on it...they claim they're a racist. Not everyone is racist. Blacks are the same towards whites too . Whites and blacks are the same...they always blame each other. Its just a skin color. Go Hillary!

I think it is funny how some people have somehow tried to tie McCain to the love of God. This is the same John McCain who posed for (and was featured on) the cover of a national gay magazine as the "new face" of the Republican party. The GOP has moved so far from the word of God that it is now a parody to even suggest that they are God's party. Obama is a real patriot and the only way that the GOP can have any hope to defeat him is to spread lies about his religion and his patriotism and hope that the ignorant people of the country will buy into it. Hillary cannot win the nomination. Winning Kentucky for Hillary means nothing. Obama will declare victory in the race for the nomination on May 20th with or without Kentucky. Rasmussen Reports shows that Obama has a 1% lead over McCain and the Democrats have a 60.7% chance of winning in November. Once the primary is finally over, you will see that number go way up as more throw support behind Obama. The USA will be better for it.

@All who know Ky is backwards in time. The great american author Mark Twain once said that when the world ends he wanted to be in Kentucky because everything happens seven years later there.

To all of you people that want to vote for Obama answer a question as to why you think Obama would make a great president when he will not place his hand over his heart during the pledge, his wife having stated that she was proud to be an American once in her life and the fact he sat in the same church for 20 years and opps didn't know he felt that way. Give me a break!!! Before anyone says that only uneducated will be voting for Hillary well your wrong. I have a college eudcation as well as does everyone in my family that will also be voting for Hillary.

Posted by: Bart Location: Harrodsburg on May 11, 2008 at 06:56 PM
Barack Obama is the best choice for Kentucky and for America. Every question that is out there about Obama is answered on his website. It is a shame that people believe lies about a man who wants to help the backbone of America, which is the working class. Obama is a true patriot who salutes the flag, sings the national anthem, believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and embodies the American dream. When, not if, it comes down to Obama and McCain you have to ask yourself if you are ready for a change or if you want four more years of Bush policies and 100 more years in Iraq.

Does anyone know where Obama will be visiting???

Posted by: Obama Supporter Location: Stanton on May 11, 2008 at 02:03 PM
Some of you people here are so prejudice. The only reason you don't want Obama to win is because he's black. (Too bad, he will win!!) You would think in 2008 we would have moved past racism. To the lady on here (Angela-Lexington) Saying you will vote for Hillary but if Obama gets the democratic nomination you will vote for McCain. This just seems like an "unintelligent" choice. Now, of course, if you have enjoyed the "Bush years" then you go right ahead and vote for McCain. We do need a change, desperately. So for those of us who want things straightened out and back on track we plan on voting for Obama. GO OBAMA!!!!!

Obama can spend all the elitist cash, fly/waste fuel campainging, etc. However, the man and the non-political educated of this country must realize, he has no chance in November. He will be defeated by a huge percentage. He will loose KY to Billary next week, so how could he carry KY in Nov? Impossible. KY will be the first state to report McCain winning by 20-30% points. Then the proud, hard working, God loving conservatives can relax. Because when KY names it's winner, The President of the USA will be comfirmed. KY votes mirroring a majority of America. Sure, obama will carry large metro areas, so did kerry. However, that is not enough to win. I feel my great city of LEX, metro approx 500K will be split or even lean to McCain, as well as other cities it's size. The rural areas of USA will be a huge success for McCain putting the puzzle together for a BIG win. To Obama, I would'nt look out of my window to see you. In fact each time I see you on TV, I look away to avoid seeing you

I'm an old, white, registered Republican. This November Obama has my vote. The bunch in DC these days don't even deserve to be called Republicans. The old term was "Crooks". We should start calling them what they are.

Posted by: Ghetto Boy Location: Lexington on May 10, 2008 at 01:48 PM
Why does Obama want to come to KY no one wants him here!!! He will not answer direct questions to him on Meet the Press. Also opps after 20 years I didn't realize my minister was prejudice but I no longer want anything to do with the man-Please people what are you thinking if you vote for Barack Hussien Obama? Wake up anyone would be better than a man that has not even served one term as a senetor. Go Hillary!!!!!

Posted by: anonymus Location: lexington on May 10, 2008 at 01:39 PM
I love these Democratic primaries and would vote for either Clinton or Obama in November, although Obama is my first choice. I would be thrilled with an Obama/Chris Gregoire ticket and Clinton as the Senate Majority Leader. Limbaugh’s Republicans will be in deep shock when all Democrats (old, women, whites, blacks, educated, uneducated, latte drinking, beer drinking, Prius driving, whateveeeeer) will come together and sweep in November. We are like two packs of dogs fighting for a bone right now. Let McWolf get in the cage and you will be amazed at what happens.

Really hope you all come around to voting in your self interest which at this point is Obama it's over for Hill and McCain is seriosly noit an option unless you make over 250 K.

Judging by the comments here, one has to admire Obama's willingness to come to Kentucky for the third time. Such hatred, small-mindedness, and outright stupidity is unusual, even for bloggers. Thank God that us good ol' boys and gals in Oregon will put Obama over the top on May 20th, so real Democrats can focus on defeating John McCain, who used to be a good and honest man, before selling his soul to the far right to get his nomination. Hope all you Kentuckians come to your senses before November!

It is amazing that people can be this hateful with what i have read in these posts. With all the hate you have spilled out, how would that change the gas price or make me pay my mortgage. Is it Rev Wright running or Bill clinton. Anyone that votes for a republican because he or she hates Obama or HC are the most unpatriotic people ever. China is getting stronger and so is the rest of the world. Did you watch the Russian parade, did you see military hardware or parade? Was that a signal? Did you know that the $ is refused in India? Did you know that 60% of the crude oil price is caused by speculators, investors and the falling dollar? Did you know that while we are mired in two wars the rest of the world is moving on and McCain is singing bomb, bomb, bomb? If you are happy with what has been happening for the last 8 years then please vote for McCain. Please stop being ignorant and see the real challenges.

If Hillary wins, I will vote for her. If Obama wins, I will vote for him. I will not support Bush III no matter what!

Kentucky has a reputation of being "backwards and behind the times"...Some of the comments of the "people" of Kentucky is proving the stereotype to be true. West Virginia elected a former KKK clansman, Robert Byrd, to the senate. Of course they dont suppport Obama. Hillary is a divisive figure and she is proving it by running a campaign based on racism. Hillary will never get the nomination, not now, not in 2012, her national political career is over.....for good!

Posted by: Wow Location: Richmond on May 9, 2008 at 11:43 PM
@Angela Location: Lexington, KY "I am voting for Hillary! If Barack Obama receives the Democratic nomination, I will vote for McCain in the general election!!!" You just proved yourself a fool. As Hitlery had no chance. And Mcain in Bush2.0. People like you got bush in the office in the 1ts place.

Hey Barack HUSSIEN Obama-guess what KY don't want you here!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't come we don't want you around!!!!!!!!!!!!! Democrates in KY will vote for Hillary. Go Hillary all the way to the White House!!

Posted by: Anonymous on May 9, 2008 at 07:31 PM
To all you Obama supporters here is a question that I would like someone to answer: Why will you be voting for a man that will not answer a direct question posed to him on MEET THE PRESS about his lack of patriotism, not knowing his former minister of 20 years was prejudice, his wife having stated that she was only proud to be an American once in her lifetime after she received a free education to an Ivy League school? How is it that in your right mind that you can honestly go to the polls and put his name down? He has not even been a senetor for one term!!!!! The man lacks the experience to be the President of the USA!!!! Wake up people and realize what is going on!!! The man hold a dual citizenship with the USA and Kenya!! When he says its time for a change does he specify what change he is refering to-NO!!!! Vote for HILLARY!!!!!

Posted by: T.K. Location: Not in Ky anymore on May 9, 2008 at 05:50 PM
Kentucky.. Be smart.. vote a democrate in, ragardless of who it is. We don't need another republican in the Whitehouse.

Posted by: jb Location: lexington on May 9, 2008 at 05:43 PM
WoW! Have you negative people actually watched any of the debates or seen interviews on CNN. HC admittedly lied and had to publicly apologize for it. I will not vote for her or John M. Just be diligent and check out all the facts before pulling that lever. Our future hinges on making the right choice. YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Zatoichi Location: Richmond on May 9, 2008 at 05:43 PM
Hopefully he brings that darling wife of his with him. She can tell us just how mean the United States is and Barry can tell us how we cling to our religion and guns. What a charming couple they are.

Obama is a nut case! He lies about his past, he lies about his heritage. He is unAmerican! We don't need someone like that running our country. For all of you that call this racism, it is not. I would vote for any on the past black canidates over Obama. Give me Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or Carol Mosely Braun. If he wins the democratic nomination, I will be voting for McCain. I just can't vote for him and feel that it is a wise decision. Please I urge everyone to VOTE FOR HILLARY!!! Atleast I feel that she could keep America safe.

Posted by: Michelle Location: Vegas on May 9, 2008 at 02:47 PM
Vote for McCain and I hope he sends your entire family to IraQ. Let's be American and show we really are supporting each other efforts.

Posted by: Jethro Location: Rat Cheer on May 9, 2008 at 02:10 PM
Yes! By all means vote for him because he came here out of perceived necessity, so that he can claim the nomination. Then you will never see him again, because he will be too busy campaigning for the general election in other, more important states. But he appreciates your vote! Didn't the election of Beshear teach any lessons about smooth talking, no substance, con artists?

Posted by: Angela Location: Lexington, KY on May 9, 2008 at 12:41 PM
