A heavily traveled part of New Circle Road is about to go down to one lane.

A four week long repair project begins Friday night and will last for the remainder of the weekend on busy New Circle Road, which may cause some tricky travel for drivers.

Starting at eight o'clock, crews will begin reducing the inner loop of New Circle Road to the right lane and will close the ramp from the inner loop of New Circle Road to outbound Versailles Road.

The ramp from inbound Versailles Road to the inner loop of New Circle will also be closed.

These closure will last over the weekend, until five o'clock Monday morning.

Crews are repairing the bridge deck surface on New Circle Road. They'll be working on it for the next four weekends.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says they will have signed detours. They suggest drivers from Versailles Road going inbound to New Circle Road make a left on South Forbes, which will take you to Old Frankfort or Newtown Pike, which will lead you back to New Circle Road.
