LOUISVILLE, KY -- One man was killed and another critically injured in a shooting late Saturday night, apparently as they were getting off a city bus in downtown Louisville, according to Metro Police, reports the Lousville Courier-Journal in its Sunday edition.
The victims had been part of an altercation on the bus that involved several people, said Officer Phil Russell, a police spokesman.
“The fighting was ongoing as they got off the bus,” he said.
After the shooting, the Transit Authority of River City bus, which had other passengers, drove to safety at Ninth and Kentucky streets, Russell said. The incident happened at about 10:40 p.m., reports the C-J.
One victim was found at 10th and Broadway and was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other remained on the bus until it pulled over, and was taken to University Hospital with critical but not life-threatening injuries, Russell told the newspaper.
No arrests had been made late last night. Russell said two people were seen fleeing the scene, reports The Louisville Courier-Journal
