Police say 19-year-old Austin Cromer was riding in a car with two friends early Saturday morning on a road just off U.S. 25. Police believe the teenagers saw police pull over another car, so they drove back into the woods.

Police say the three teens jumped out of the car and started running. Cromer ran off a 20-foot cliff and died.

His mother found Cromer, according to police, after she went to look for him when he didn't show up at home that night.

Police do not believe any charges will be filed in this case, because it was an accident.

Austin was one of my friends when i lived in London. He will be greatly missed. And Sara and Terry (parents) will be in my prayers.

He could have been retained a grade but that is irrelevant to the incident. This story just not make since. Seems like there may be more to it. Yes, it is an awful tragedy but for him to "run" off of a 20 foot cliff because the police pull over another car ????

Once again...what does it matter how old he is and what grade he is in or should be in. Such a tragic loss of life! My prayers and thoughts are with this family. God Bless!

Perhaps a late birthday, and maybe they got held back or stayed back a year in elementary school. I know this is possible, I have a 16 yr old freshman. His birthday is after October 1st, which puts him a year later to start school and he stayed back in junior high.

Now how can a 19-year-old still be in high school? Shouldn't he have been a freshman in college instead? Puzzled here.
