One person is now dead after a crash that hurt nine people in Pulaski County on Monday.

Police were on the scene for hours after the four vehicle crash. It happened on U.S. 27 near the Pulaski/Lincoln County line.

Police say two cars were stopped in the southbound lanes because the car in front was trying to turn onto Skyline Drive. Police say a third car plowed into the back of the second car, which in turn pushed the first car into the path of an oncoming truck.

Two people were so badly hurt, they were airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Seven others were taken to the hospital in Somerset.

One of those victims, 32-year-old Tanya Clark, died at UK hospital on Tuesday night. The coroner says she suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Police say they're still trying to figure out what caused the crash, but don't think construction in the area played a role.

Tanya, you will never know how much you are missed right now. God be with your family in these dark times, and I'll be praying for everyone who loves and misses you. I hope this serves as a strong reminder to all the deadly consequences of careless driving. A good woman was lost due to a lack of attention on someone's part, no matter how you look at it. God forgive those responsible.

This type of things really scare me, because I live about 15 minutes from where the accident occured. My dad just recently left my house a few minutes before I heard the emergency vehicles go by. Sometimes my dad goes through that way to go home. I am thankful that it wasn't him...But I am still sadden by the people injured in the accident. May God Be With Them...
