Around 7 o'clock Monday night, Kentucky State Police in Richmond received a call about a man found dead in his home on Smyth Lane.

Neighbors tell 27 NEWSFIRST they heard two gun shots around 2pm, then saw emergency crews rushing to the scene around 7pm.

They say 48-year-old Ricky Horn's mother found him inside his home dead.

Kentucky State Police ruled the death a murder.

State Police say an autopsy will be conducted on Horn to determine how he died.
