Starting tomorrow restaurants in Lexington will be required to post their health inspection scores.

The scores will be placed in a spot near the restaurants' entrances where everyone can see them. Scores of 85 or higher with no major violations will get a green label. Anything lower than 84 will get a red label.

The Fayette County Health Department approved the policy last month. Restaurants are inspected every six months.

Health officials say overall Lexington restaurants have scored relatively well in the past.

Even owners like Jim Sawyer, who owns Sawyer's Grille, says he welcomes the opportunity to prove to his customers that his place is cleanly and healthy.
