LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Streets and buildings have reopened after
a minor natural gas leak in Lexington.
Lisa Smith of Columbia Gas says a contractor working in the area
accidentally hit a 3-inch gas line with a piece of equipment on
Tuesday. Lee says about 11 customers lost their service
temporarily. She says the line has been fixed.
Firefighters had closed down streets and evacuated businesses
near Executive Drive and Buena Vista Road, an area along Winchester
Road near Interstate 75. Lexington fire battalion chief Steve Sea
said the evacuation ended early Tuesday afternoon.
