A Lexington bank robbery suspect appeared in court on Friday afternoon.

Police say Jesse T. Polanco III walked into the Central Bank Thursday on the corner of Pimlico and Man O' War, told the clerk he had a weapon and then left with an undetermined amount of money.

Police were told he left in a white Nissan Maxima. It was a description police had heard before.

On February 29, the Traditional Bank on Tates Creek was robbed and police say it was the same man.

But on Thursday, police chased the suspect through town. During the chase, Polanco reportedly rammed a police car and drove the wrong way on Maxwell Street.

Polanco was arrested after his car blew a tire at the intersection of Alexandria and Maywick View.

Polanco faces a total of 18 charges including two robberies and mostly traffic violations.

He pleaded not guilty at Friday's arraignment.

Really he shouldn't get life, but he should be placed behind bars for a VERY, VERY long time. My office is on S. Broadway and I saw this guy running from the police, he put allot of people in danger, he's lucky he didn't hurt or kill anyone. And personally I think the city should slap him with some attempted homicide charges simply for the danger he caused to all the people that crossed his path that day. One last comment, this guy can't be very smart, why did he drive all around Lexington on this chase? The bank he robbed was really close to the interstate! I would never do such thing, but if I did I'd hit the interstate before I drove around Lexington on a wild goose chase! What is wrong with people!?!

I hope he gets life in prison for his crimes.
