A Lexington woman is dead after a violent crash that happened with her young son in the car.

The coroner identified the victim of the crash 27-year-old Jennifer Lee. She died of multiple blunt force trauma.

Police say she was trying to turn on to North Broadway from the parking lot of the Days Inn near the interstate. Police say there was a semi truck turning into the parking lot in the right lane, but as Lee pulled out, she was t-boned by a pick-up truck in the left lane.

Lee was taken to UK hospital where she later died. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Her 7-year-old son was also in the car. He was in a safety seat and was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation, but it appears to be accidental. Police don't suspect drugs or alcohol.

Hexington,ky is a dangerous congested horrible place to drive.Traffic engineering here is a joke.People drive rude here because they have to be bullies just to pull out of lots or go through 3 or 4 way stop intersectionns that desperately need traffic lights.Just keep piling in more cars and people and ignore safety issues. The cops here are more interested in issuing 200 dollar tickets on their new motorcycles on the sir barton way speed trap.I will not let my child drive in hexington because I fear for her life.Scary place.
