A 27-year-old Lexington woman expecting her second child is dead.

Jennifer Lee was killed after her car was hit by a pickup truck on North Broadway on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Lee was trying to make a right on Broadway. Her line of sight was being blocked by a semi-truck. When she turned, she did so directly into oncoming traffic.

Lee's 7-year-old son was also in the car at the time of the crash.

Initially authorities told 27NEWSFIRST that the child was not injured, but the child's aunt, Melissa Jones, later told 27NEWSFIRST the child had been admitted to the hospital for bruised ribs and possibly an injured lung.

The driver of the pick up truck was not seriously injured.

I feel so sorry for this woman's family, particularly her son, whose life will never be the same. May she and her unborn child rest in peace, and may her family have comfort in knowing she is in a better place.
