Lexington Police say they will cite the driver of an SUV for DUI and possession of a controlled substance after a violent crash early Thursday morning.

Police say Dawn Hoot was driving inbound on North Broadway near Cane Run Road when she hit a culvert then a tree.

The GEO tracker then flipped over trapping Hoot inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews worked for 20 minutes to free Hoot from the SUV.

Hoot went to UK Hospital with what police describe as serious but non life-threatening injuries.

You think your city has the worst drivers is because you about every little accident that happens. The city that has the worst drivers is Las Vegas because you are getting people from all over the country.

Well, Tina...it looks like they are going to cite this driver. I'd say after this the police will use their mind altering stun ray to keep other drivers from drinking and driving. Lexington's drivers are the worst in recent times, I agree. Who were the bad ones you saw in ancient times? I heard that Caesar was a road hog!

Much gratitude is due to all emergency services of Lexington. Our police, fire/ems, and other services are excellent. We are certainly fortunate to have such dedicated servants of the community. In regard to the current story, WKYT should seek the opinions of the paramedics and EMTs who work with our fire department when reporting medical information. A patient's condition and the severity of his/her injuries are more accurately described by the paramedics or EMTs. Hospital personnel could also provide information. The police officers would likely be glad to forgo the medical questioning since their expertise is in other matters concerning public safety. Thank you, Lexington police and fire/ems, for all that you do!

What is going on in Lexington? Why are there too many crashes? What is the police & DA doing about there crashes? Lexington drivers are the worst I have seen in recent times.
