MANCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - Firefighters battled a forest fire near the Hal Rogers Parkway Monday night.

It broke out near exit 22 of the parkway.

Firefighters haven't yet said what sparked the fire, but they say it burned a few acres.

They said the fire never threatened any buildings. They hope the rain, which is expected to move into eastern Kentucky early Tuesday morning, will help put them put out the fire.
