FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Lexington's Jif peanut butter plant will be getting more than $43 million in upgrades and will retain its 279 jobs.

The move by J.M. Smucker LLC was announced Thursday by Gov. Steve Beshear's office. A news release said planned upgrades include machinery and equipment while expanding product lines to meet increased demand.

Smucker was given preliminary approval for tax incentives up to $2 million to encourage the investment.
