Historic Georgetown Landmark May Get $16 Million Facelift

GEORGETOWN, KY -- An ambitious $16 million renovation project for Cardome Centre was unveiled over the weekend at a private reception held by the Cardome Academy Association, Inc., which is seeking to take over the administration of the Scott County historical landmark.

The Georgetown News-Graphic reports in its Sunday edition that the renovations are contingent upon the association negotiating a lease with the city. The reception was held to announce the plans for instituting the Center for the Written Word at Cardome by the association, reports the News-Graphic, reports the newspaper.

The Cardome Academy Asso_ciation Inc. was "incorporated several years ago," according to president Suzanne Concannon Cassidy, a Cardome alumna, reports the Georgetown News-Graphic.
