A young man is dead after an ATV crash and police say he may have been drinking before he wrecked.

It happened last night in Rockcastle County in the Luma Hollow area. Police say 20-year old Justin Samples hit a cable and was thrown from his ATV. He was not wearing a helmet.

This latest death comes at the end of what was a deadly weekend for ATV users. Crashes in Pike, Floyd and Harlan counties resulted in three deaths. A Scott County teenager is at UK Hosptial today after he crashed in Jackson County yesterday.

sorry about ur loss. the machines arent dangerous if u know how to ride them...accidents do happen sometimes...ppl wouldnt be on highways if they would fix the trails so they are passable.if ur comin to ride the redbird crest trail in clay co. dont bring ur kids cuz the trails are bad, even for adults, they need to put the money, that we're paying to ride these trails, back into the trails and make them safe.these trails are even dangerous for horses sometimes so whats up with that when an animal cant even walk the trails.be safe and be sure to wear ur helmet if ur gonna ride anywhere.might save ur noggin'.

Quit whining, its not the atvs that are dangerous, its the drivers! Without a driver that atv just sits there and doesn't hurt anybody. So lets place blame where its due, on the drivers. Add alcohol and drugs and your just asking to die.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this mans family GOD BLESS you all.As for the anti Atv people get a life open your eyes theres more death caused by cars trucks bicycles even falling down walking. I got a idea lets ban this stuff to no more death for noone. You people need to get a life its the persons choice NOT YOURS.If i want to let my kids or myself ride one I WILL.It maybe because some people cant afford THE$$$$$ to buy one their selfs that makes them so mad.Its the person or parents choice if they ride or let the kids ride not the messed up goverment or our great lawmakers in Ky.And its sure not the choice of a bunch of whiners that have nothing better to do than set on a com all day gossiping and complaining. The good book says YOU WILL NOT GO BEFORE YOUR TIME!If your time is up your going to go if its in a car motorcycle couch bathtub or the bad ATV.It was their time to go let them RIP.ALSO when you all are driving your car YOURE IN THE MOST DANGEROUS VEHICLE. DRIVE SAFELY??!!

I was very upset when I heard about Justin. He was a good young man, who had a lot of life to live. I will always remember him, and his sense of humor, and handsome smile. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Justin was really loved, and God has gotten another sweet angel.

Its sad this happened to someone so young. But a helmet may have prevented this!As for charles comment seems theres more deaths from car wrecks than ATVS unless you been under a log on lost creek you would know that!Seems like the law should be cracking down on the fools driving on our highways 5 deaths in cars 4 on ATVS HMMM my math says 5 is more than 4! Get the idiots off the roads eather cars Atvs get them all.[bet this dont get printed brother blahs didnt and it was true]

May God reach down and hold the families near to Him. Our community will grieve for the loss of such a young, bright and spirited girl whose life seemed far too short.

four deaths on ATV's in eastern ky. they were babies placed on the deadly machines potrayed as fun thing by atv sales that advertised that an atv is better than a bicycle.the news showed many serious injuries plus the death of two adults.who would think just one year ago cars and trucks lead the death rate in ky now comes the atv.
