Man injured in shooting during robbery in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An investigation is underway into a shooting that left a man injured Monday night.

Lexington Police say the shooting happened just after 8 p.m. on Ohio Street in the East End area.

Police say the victim and his girlfriend told them they were sitting in a car when two men came up and robbed them of some money.

The victim said one of the robbers then shot him in the leg as they ran off.

He was taken to UK Hospital with what police call non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not made any arrests in the case.

Lexington Police say the shooting suspect is a black man, around five feet tall and weighing around 150 pounds. Police say he was wearing shoulder-length dreadlocks and had on a black coat.

Both suspects left the scene in a vehicle of unknown description.
