Meeting held on controversial Lexington shopping center

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - People concerned about a newly-proposed shopping center in Lexington had a chance to talk over the plans with developers Tuesday night.

A meeting was held last night at Southern Acres Christian Church to discuss plans for The Summit Lexington.

Bayer Properties wants to build the shopping center at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Man O' War.

People who live in the neighborhood say they have mixed reactions to the plan.

"I'm all for development, and I think it might be a good thing for the area. I'm just a little concerned about the traffic," Stephanie Towles, who lives nearby, told WKYT.

The plans for The Summit Lexington also call for some residential development.

We're told if it's approved by the city, The Summit could open by the fall of 2015.
