A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
It's been a little more than a month since Nicholasville man Mark Dunn was murdered. "He was found in the back of his pickup truck, burned beyond recognition," describes friend Gwen Brown.
The memory and pain of the da Dunn's friends learned of his death is still fresh in their hearts and minds, especially since the killer is still out there. So far, no witnesses have come forward in the case, even with the promise of reward money. "Somebody's got to know something out there," says Dunn's friend Brenda Watters.
In hopes of getting someone to come forward and speak out, Watter and Brown want to significantly raise the amount of reward money for information leading to an arrest.
Their plan is hold an fundraiser at Squire's Tavern in Lexington. The event, scheduled for Saturday June 14th, will feature: a bike show, free food, karaoke, a raffle, auction, and kissing booth.
They will also be selling t-shirts that feature a picture of Mark Dunn. The proceeds of those shirts will go to the reward fund. The remainder of the proceeds will aid Dunn's widow.
