Three people robbed at gunpoint in Lexington home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are searching for a man they say robbed three people at a home near the UK campus.

"We heard the back door make a noise but didn't think anything of it," explains Tyler Able, one of the three roommates that live in the home off Waller Avenue. "Then all of a sudden my roommate came running into the room and I saw a guy with a gun,"

The robbery happened around 10:30 p.m. and Lexington Police say the suspect walked into the home from an unlocked back door. They say three people were inside, all lived at the residence.

Police say the suspect stole an iPad and some money and took off.

"He demanded we give him all of our money so when my roommate went to his room to get his wallet I quickly called 9-11," explains Able.

By the time police arrived the suspect was gone. They say he fled through the back door towards the railroad tracks.

A similar situation happened on Tuesday at a home off Alyseford Place where police say an intruder entered through an unlocked back door and stole electronics and a purse.

"We're looking to see if the same person is responsible for the incident off Alyseford Place as well as the home invasion where the young man was forced to go to the ATM," explains Sherelle Roberts with the Lexington Police. "In all incidents the doors were unlocked and the intruder entered."

Lexington Police say they're still looking for the suspect. They have not yet released a description of who they're looking for.
