Beshear Says Japan Trip Should Lead To More Jobs In Ky.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear says his business trip
to Japan last week is paying off for Kentucky.
The governor says two Japanese companies are expected to
announce plans to open in Kentucky. He says the companies are related to the automotive industry and would each bring more than 100 jobs.
Beshear returned to Kentucky on Sunday after a weeklong trip.
He declined to name the companies or where they were planning to
operate, but says the companies have not been located in Kentucky
Japanese investment in Kentucky has become widespread with 154
facilities employing nearly 40,000 people in 40 communities, the
governor's office said before the trip, citing a recent report.
