2 killed, 2 injured in crash on I-69 in Hopkins

DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (AP) - Two people aboard a motorcycle have died and two others are injured following a wreck in western Kentucky involving a sport-utility vehicle.

Kentucky State Police say southbound lanes of Interstate 69 were expected to be closed for several hours between the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway and the Dawson Springs exit as a result of the wreck.

Police haven't released the names of the two people who were pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday afternoon.

Police said a northbound SUV driven by 34-year-old Mary J. Moore of Louisville went off the left shoulder, Moore overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. It turned sideways and traveled into the median, became airborne and hit the southbound motorcycle. Moore and her husband, 41-year-old Keith A. Moore, were taken to a local hospital.
