Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - Police are investigating after a 2-year-old western Kentucky girl drowned in a pool in her family's backyard.
McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden told a local news station that Kaylea Lampkin was pronounced dead at a hospital after her mother found her in the pool and pulled her out.
He said dispatchers gave the mother instructions on performing CPR, and emergency crews took over after arriving but it wasn't enough to save the child.
An autopsy was planned on Friday.
