MALIBU, Calif. (WKYT) - A man from central Kentucky faces charges after police say he led them on a wild chase in southern California.
Police in Malibu say they noticed 24-year-old James "Blake" Allen driving recklessly Tuesday afternoon, but they say they couldn't get him to stop.
The chase continued for 30 minutes, until Allen's SUV ran over a spike strip.
At that point, police say Allen got out of the SUV and taunted them.
Police say they were forced to fire beanbags at Allen, but at that point, he started to move towards them.
Police then used a stun gun on Allen, and tackled him to arrest him.
He's charged with driving under the influence of drugs, felony evasion, and resisting arrest.
Allen is originally from Lexington.
We've learned he's the brother of Chas Allen, one of four men who admitted stealing millions of dollars worth of rare books and art from Transylvania University in 2004.
Chas and Blake Allen later wrote a book together about that crime.
