A line of strong to severe storms will race across central and eastern Kentucky over the next several hours.
A Louisville man goes missing in the Red River Gorge. 37 year old Joseph Sanders hasn't been heard from since Sunday.
Although Sanders lives in Louisville, he is no stranger to the gorge. In fact, he has camped there many times before. Sgt. Jim Bowling of the Kentucky State Police tells 27 NEWSFIRST, "The man's uncle owns the property around Pumpkin Bottom Camp Ground and Mr. Sanders had been there several times as a child and as he grew up."
Sanders borrowed his sister's car to make the trip on Sunday, but didn't tell anyone where he was going, and there are some mysterious elements to his disappearance. Sgt. Bowling says, "His tent was unopened. We found that next to the car he was driving, and across the river we found a backpack and a sleeping bad that had not been opened. It's just odd..
About a 2 hour search was conducted on Friday evening when the missing person report first came in and teams continued combing the area on Saturday. According to Bowling, "They searched all of the river. They searched all the trails in the immediate area. There are thousands of acres in the Red River GOrge, and they could seach for the next ten years and never cover every nook and cranny in there."
Foul play is not suspected at this time, but the case remains under investigation.
