A Lexington family got a rude awakening Sunday morning when an out-of-control driver crashed in front of their home.
It all happened just before four o'clock Sunday morning on Gatehouse Place. That's when police say a driver lost control, jumped a curb and crashed into a parked car belonging to Melissa Bynum. The force of the collision sent Bynum's car crashing into the front of her home. The driver fled the scene.
Bynum told 27 NewsFirst that her entire house shook and she thought it was just a bad dream. Fortunately, Bynum and her four children were not injured in the accident.
Police say they apprehended an individual they believe caused the wreck. They have yet to release the identity of that driver.
