Later this week, members of Lexington's Courthouse Area Design Board will meet to decide if a block of buildings in downtown Lexington should be demolished to make room for a new, 35-story skyscraper.
It comes as The Dame closed its doors early Monday morning.
The Dame was one of the last night spots on the block to move or close up shop.
The live music venue has become one of Lexington's most popular entertainment destinations.
The board will meet Wednesday afternoon.
It will also review the application for the proposed Centrepointe development which would include a luxury hotel, high-priced condos, stores and restaurants.
