A Kentucky man dies from injuries suffered in a crash in Russia back in May
The pastor of First Baptist Church in Junction City says Lawrence Kendrick pasted away at the UK Hospital just after 6:00 pm Wednesday night.
Kendrick suffered a serious head injury after a crash in Russia in late May. He spent three weeks in a Moscow hospital before his family was finally able to bring him home last week.
Funeral arrangements have not been set yet.

Mr Annonymous, What a cold hearted thing to say, about a man that truly loves the Lord. I love this family and my heart breaks for them. I will pray for you that the Lord would get your attention, and show you that He is real, and He is Almighty God, and prayers do really work.

I can not believe that people so heartless and vile would actually come to this board and say the things they are saying. Shame on you! If the world had more men like this pastor, it would be a greater place. It sickens me to read some of these comments! May the lord comfort his family during this difficult time.

The obvious thing here is that if you believe in God, then you must also believe that God let him die. He was over there peddling American Christianity which consists of lies (God loves everybody, divorce and remarriage is okay, blah blah blah). God struck him down for spreading these lies to the Russians. God is not blessing America, He is cursing America!

On behalf of my mother and brothers I want to thank all of you for your well wishes and prayers. Dad passed away surrounded by family and friends. He was a wonderful father and friend.

Poor Anonymous. When he dies I hope people aren't around to scorn his death. I'll be happy to come by and give him a bear hug. Sound like this lonely guy needs it. May the Kendrick family know of the sympathy we have for them and may God bless them.

Mr. Kendrick is a saint who has been called home and we can all be grateful for his life, the mission he chose and the legacy he left behind in his family. He is, at this moment, alive and well and no longer injured, in the presence of the Lord. To "annonymous", one has to wonder why someone who is obviously anti-God comes to a message board that is filled with believers. I think the Lord is dealing with you and working in your heart and though you will never admit it, you are hoping to find the answers you seek by coming here. As to your comments, Mr. Kendrick died while fulfilling his life's passion and demonstrating his love for the Lord, in a way that was open for all the world to see. On the other hand, you are here with your mean-spirited and compassionless rants about the futility of Christianity. Who's more credible....Mr. Kendrick who died doing what he believed in, or you, who hasn't even the courage to sign your own name to your so-called beliefs? I hope you wake up.

My greatest gratitude goes out to Lawrence. he honestly lived for the Lord. I did not know him personally but knew his love for God through his sons. Mark taught me in middle school and i couldnt ask for a more Godly teacher which is what i needed as a 6th grader. The whole family was very involved in our FCA and i pray continue to be. They are doing the Lords will in Boyle County that is greatly needed. Thank you all and my prayers are with you.

Oh the rewards that await this man in heaven. He died as a result of doing "THE" father's work. Oh, for some of us to be so lucky to go home to see "THE" Lord in the same way.

I was appalled and discouraged by Anonymous' comments. Missionairies do the work of God for FREE. They do the work that most of us refuse to. Witnessing to those in other countries or even next door is a great responsibility for christians and something that no one should throw sarcasm at. I've had situations in my life that I know without prayer, I wouldn't be alive. So to say that prayer does nothing, is absurd and insane. I'll pray for you anonymous and that you'll change your way of thinking and your heart. So many people in the world today are just like anonymous and need our prayers.

I never knew Lawrence personally, but I have never heard anything bad about him. I have only heard wonderful things. He was a hard worker and a good man. For Anonymous you apparently don't have a heart or any sense. Apparently you are filled with a lot of hate for one reason or another and the only way you are finding to express it is by downgrading someone you probably don't even know. Find another way to express your anger and keep your negative comments to yourself. Let this family grieve for their loved one. To the family, our prayers are with you, don't think this person's comments will ever change what people think about Lawrence. Missionary workers are special. If we had more of them the world would be a much better place. So many out there need God's word and a lot of communities don't have the means to build a church or come together. Your father's good graces helped to make those dreams a reality for a lot people. Keep up the good work in his honor. May God bless you.

Please have some remorse for this family that has lost their father. Have you never lost someone you loved? Good for you, but you more than likely will and it's the most horrible thing to lose someone you love so deeply. Step back and think about the hateful words you are saying, it is not right to be so disrespectful to those gone before us. May God bless you.

Sounds like he must have hung on in there until he got home. It is a very sad story, but heart warming in a way as well. God bless his wife and family.

Pete (and family), we all know that God's hand is all around this situation. We will continue to pray for all of you and are so happy that you will all soon be reunited. God Bless and as for anoynomous, God Bless you as well.

Ruthie and boys - Please know that we are praying for Lawrence daily, he is such a wonderful man and I know that God is with you all during this hard time. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do. Love to all Lauren & family

So Pete, it was your ability to pay for your father's travel and medical expenses that brought him to Kentucky. Prayer isn't a widely accepted currency if I remember finance correctly. Best of luck with your future expenses, but don't count on a sack full of gold post prayer. As far as pity goes, you should probably save yourself the trouble and focus on your delusion with blind faith. Regards, A

To anonymous: I will also not remain anonymous because this man is my father. It cost me a great deal of money to leave my job for two weeks and travel to Russia to get him home and when all of the medical bills are added up when this event is over many weeks from now my parents will be lucky to still own their home. Your comments did not anger me, they made me pity you. I will pray for you and humbly thank all those who have prayed for my father.

Again, it's easy to point out that phone calls and thousands of dollars helped out the missionary not prayers. Not once does the statement accuse this missionary of making money. But as for picking up a bible tonight, I think you should read your bible more closely. Perhaps you missed the malevolent, bigoted, misogony clearly spelled out. you can be delusional all you want but don't expect me buy into it.

Our prayers, love and support go out to Lawrence and the family during this time. As for Anonymous: There is always one person who knows nothing of the story that has to muddle things. 1) Lawrence doesn't make any money on these trips, he spends it. He has been retired from selling Bush Hog equipment for some time and did well. 2) As to returning him home it was the efforts of the family and the state department and friends that brought him here. The bills will be sorted through later. If it is prayer that sustains them in this hour, what is that to you or anyone else? It's there story, not yours. Unlike others, I won't remain anonymous. I've considered Lawrence like a second father most of my life. His sons are like my brothers. I appreciate all the prayers and words so many have shared here and in other places.

To Anonymous: I beg you to open your heart to the Lord and finally have peace and forgiveness in your life. I as a Christian will pray for you. REMEMBER EVERY FAIRYTALE ENDS WITH HAPPILY EVER AFTER.If you give your heart to Jesus and accept that he is your Lord and Savior he will help you thru good and bad times. May not always be what you want but trust in him, have faith and it will be a true happy ending at the end of your life. To live with no pain or sickness, no sadness, no worries .Pick up a bible tonight and read. Study his word. He really loves you. SINCERELY,CONCERNED

Dear Anonymous - FYI - Most missionarys or mission workers don't get PAID! They work for God for free. I'll say a prayer for you...

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. This is such a tragic accident. One never knows what the day will bring. It's obvious the family has great faith and that will sustain them no matter what. God bless you all!

Posted by: Anne Location: Danville on Jun 24, 2008 at 06:19 AM
Our family has you & yours in our prayers. A tragic thing to happen to such an amazing family. We are here if you need us!

So this guy makes his money peddling fairytales to Russians? A regular Hans Christian Anderson of hebrew folklore. I'd say it was the phone calls and the thousands of dollars that returned him to the states, not the prayer.

I know this man and his family. They are all Christians due to his Excellent example to his family and extended family. Mr kendrick was a patient in the room with my Dad-last year.... Even though he was in a great deal of pain...he encouraged my dad and witnessed to him. I pray for his recovery and for his family. Larry and Jamie were here if you need us...Frankie & Gale
