LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The mayor of Louisville says there's $20,000 waiting for anyone who can come up with the best idea to increase the number of college graduates in the city.
Mayor Greg Fischer announced the prize Friday in unveiling the 55,000 Degrees Innovation in Education Attainment Competition.
Fischer says the competition will help the city reach a goal of having 55,000 more college-educated citizens by 2020.
The competition will be held in two phases. A call for proposals began Friday and runs through Nov. 2. Finalists will then move to a second round that will end in March.
