Mt. Sterling Pharmacist Pleads Not Guilty

A well known Montgomery County pharmacist appeared in court on Thursday morning on charges of illegally selling drugs.

Police tell 27NEWSFIRST, Emil Baker was arrested after a year long, undercover investigation.

Baker is accused of trafficking three types of narcotics. He entered a not guilty plea.

At Thursday's hearing, Barker's attorneys asked the judge to let Baker return to work at his pharmacy because it was his sole source of income. The judge said she would consider the request and issue a ruling at a later date.

Baker's attorneys also asked for their client to be allowed back into his store to retrieve some personal belongings. The judge agreed, as long as Baker is escorted by a police officer.

If found guilty on the nine charges he faces, Baker could spend up to 50 years behind bars.
