Lexington, Louisville mayors make friendly bet over game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The mayors of Lexington and Louisville are raising the stakes on Saturday's Louisville-Kentucky football game.

Lexington Mayor Jim Gray is making a friendly bet with Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer on the annual showdown for the Governor's Cup trophy.

If the University of Kentucky wins, Fischer will give Gray a personalized Louisville Slugger bat. If the University of Louisville wins, Gray will owe Fischer a bottle of Town Branch bourbon.

Gray said in a statement that he is hoping Kentucky can win back the Governor's Cup.

Kickoff is noon Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington.
