Two people are dead after a violent crash in Jessamine County.
It happened at around 11:00 Monday morning on U.S. 68.near the intersection of Kentucky 169. The crash shut the road down for a couple hours.
A witness tells 27 NEWSFIRST a Ford Focus carrying two passengers lost control and slid across the road. We're told an oncoming Jeep T-boned the car and both vehicles ended up in a culvert.
"I called 911 and they asked me to go to the accident victim's and let them know if I thought they were dead or alive," said Louis Daniels, witness to the accident.
The victim's have been identified as, 71-year-old, Nancy Gersh and her daughter, 39-year-old Holly Gersh, both of Versailles. The coroner pronounced them dead on scene.
The driver of the jeep, 41-year-old, Sherry Harrison, was taken to UK hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At last report she was in fair condition.
