Two people are dead after a shooting outside a Harrison County hospital.

It happened at around 11:00 Tuesday morning at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana.

Kim Niman died at the scene from a gunshot wound. Her husband, Frederick Niman, was airlifted from the scene with a gunshot wound. He later died from his injuries.

Cynthiana police officers say they're investigating the shooting as a possible domestic situation, but the Harrison County Sheriff tells 27 NEWSFIRST this was a case of murder-suicide.

We're told Frederick Niman worked at the hospital.

Police say Kim Niman's body was sent to Frankfort for an autopsy that will be conducted on Wednesday.

Umm, There were several witnesses to the incident. That is how family members know the details of the situation. This site should be to help the family heal and with rude comments from people who have no idea what they are talking about the family will only feel more pain than they already do, so please people if you have comments to help the families by all means do it but for those of you who have no lives and have nothing better to do with your time than bash people you didn't know, well go for a walk or something please. THIS FAMILY HAS ENDURED FAR MORE THAN THEY EVER SHOULD HAVE PLEASE DON'T MAKE IT ANY WORSE. We will pray for you also you really need it too!

Anonymous, umm, how do you know what his last words were? He may have been "good" at one point, but that stopped the moment he pulled the trigger and killed his wife. He became a murderer and decided to take his own life. That to me is not a "good" person.

OUR WORLD IS INDANGERED

Posted by: not sure Location: nicholasville on Jul 3, 2008 at 12:09 PM
This is a sad world we all live in. I think that things overcome us that we can't control......it gets out of hand.....the excitement....the hurt....the pain and all that our minds are full of. Machines blow up when they " lose their cool" I think we are alot like machines.......what do we do when there is just too much for our minds and hearts to handle........Each of you are right in your own way of thinking.........We do need GOD and this world is becoming a scary place. People have said that for years and it used to be "crazy" and now it seems more real than anything I have heard of. GOD ( or whoever you believe in) BLESS us all in every way...........

I am family. I was very close to Ricky. Please do not be quick to judge this man. He was a good "kid", trying to be loved, trying to keep his family together and doing the best he could. Last year he lost his grandmother, whom he was very close to. Recently his real father "disowned" him. Now he was losing his wife. He was in great pain and struggling. His last words were, "I can't take it anymore!" This is a true tragedy. I only wish I could have done something.....

Why are all of you people downing "satin"? It's a perfectly nice fabric if you ask me.

Both people were victims! Unless we were directly involved we have no idea what we are talking about! There had to be a series of events leading up to this trajedy. Please remember that the innocent victims are the children! Pray for them to find some peace in their hearts. God bless the families of both victims!

May God bless both families. Its such a shame something had to happen like this!! Their Families are in my thoughts and prayers. I dont know the situation so I really cant say much about it but the couple are in my thoughts and so are there families. This happened for a reason but for the most of us we dont know What that reason could of been. God Bless them all!!!

I know you all are confused and as family we are heartbroken. We love the family left bechind, precious and great young men. Please support them. As family we are seeing the picture unfold, trust me the story is much deeper and wider than the news clip. Knowing the story does not make the pain less, it actually makes it harder. Please, as a community, wrap your arms of love around these very heartbroken and shocked brothers. They will need love and compassion as they are now forced to face life.

my heart goes out to this couple's children they are the true victims in this tragic occurance. instead of passing blame that energy could be better use on focusing on what really matters now, the boys. i knew both kim an rick they were nice poeple but i did not have to live with them or in there shoes. it is just so sad and my prayers are with they whole family on both sides.

we must remember that death is not about those who are gone but about those still here who remain, and are faced with great loss and sadness. We must keep these in our prayers. Let God do his work and each of us do ours.

This guy had a serious mental malfunction. I'm sure satan or god had little if anything to do with it. Quit cramming for the test all of you evangelicals, what ever happened to judge not? No one ever expects the spanish inquisition..lol My condolances to the famlies involved, what a horrible tragedy. Its a shame instead of saying comforting to the families of these victims, the zealots have to shoot off their mouths.

Murder-suicide involving spouses IS a Domestic Situation. How sad for the families of these individuals. May the Lord be with them.

@Carter Holiday Location: Paris which time of peace do you mean? The crusades or salem witch hunts? More people died in the name of the idea of one false god than any other reason. @ ril on Jul 1, 2008 People like you always think the world will end in your lifetime. If you mean only for you your right.

People are nuts today. And I'm afraid we haven't seen anything yet. Help us GOD.

I personally know so many people that are awaiting donor organs and and it seems everyone else is either trying to kill themselves with alcohol and or drugs or killing each other. May God have mercy on each of them. It is so very sad.

I agree with Carter. Satan is definitely running rampant in our world. He tricked Eve into eating the bad forbidden fruit and now he's trying to lure everyone to his evil ways. Jesus will prevail in the end however. Are you ready???

Posted by: ril on Jul 1, 2008 at 03:16 PM
AMEN! The last days are very near and now is the time. Once THAT DAY has arrived, there are no second chances. And those who deny WILL bow before Him. I beg of you to take your chance while you have it!

Carter you are a true Christian! God is in control not satin be with God and no other

Posted by: Carter Holiday Location: Paris on Jul 1, 2008 at 02:44 PM
The world is ate up with Satan's disciples. I'm asking each of you to conduct a search of your soul and find out where you stand with God. Together, we Christians can shine our lights on this saddened world of shooters and rapists and murderers etc and we can bring people to CHRIST with prayer and a little team work.
