A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
It seems that everything is getting to be more expensive these days as a result of high gas prices. That now includes some fun activities in Lexington.
The city is raising the cost for admission for parks, golf courses and pools.
Starting Tuesday, the rates went up.
It used to cost $3 per child and $4 per adult to swim in most city pools. Those prices have gone up a dollar apiece.
The Douglas Pool, which has traditionally been free, will not charge $3 per child and $4 per adult.
The city hopes the price increases will help raise hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The fee for other activities, such as golfing, have gone up by two dollars.
