Couple Charged With Animal Cruelty After 25 Pets Found Living In Filth

A Bullitt County couple is in jail tonight facing animal cruelty charges.
Investigators say the husband and wife left 25 animals to fend for themselves inside a filthy trailer. The home was covered with fleas, feces and dirt.
Neighbors say the owners Joe and Shiela Myers moved out and then stopped tending to the pets.Rescuers removed 16 dogs and 9 cats--all of which are suffering from infections and malnutrition.
Joe and Sheila Myers are being held at the Bullitt County Detention Center on $25,000 bond each.
