Here is a list activities and businesses thanking our military men and women on Veteran’s Day, by offering free or discounted meals or services:
At 10 a.m., a parade is set for Nov. 9 from Wilmore to the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. A ceremony will follow.
At 4pm, the inaugural Lexington National Veterans Day Run will take place at Coldstream Park in Lexington. A timed 5K run and one mile family walk is included. You don't have to run, but can come out to support our veterans. A supporter option is available, and donations will be given to Folds of Honor Foundation.
Nick Ryans on Jefferson Street is hosting a dinner on Monday in Lexington. 25% of the proceeds will go toward helping a disabled veteran organization. The Veteran's Day dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
Head over to Denny's for all-you-can-eat stacks of buttermilk pancakes.
Get a haircut at Great Clips. Vets can walk in with no appointment. Vets can also get a rain check if they don't have time on Monday.
National parks with admission fees are waiving them for vets over the three-day weekend.
Hooters offers free meals for vets up to $10.99. You just have to buy a beverage.
Golden Corral hosts a free buffet dinner and free beverage from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to active-duty and retired military ever year on Veteran's Day.
Get a free donut and small coffee from Krispy Kreme stores.
At Red Robin, Veterans can get a free Tavern Double burger with bottomless fries.
You can enjoy a cup of your favorite brew at Starbucks for Veterans AND their spouses.
Eat down under at Outback Steakhouse. Bloomin' onions and a drink are both free on Sunday and Monday.
